St. Anthony

Saint Anthony (2002)
This engaging biopic chronicles the life of St. Anthony of Padua, a disciple of St. Francis of Assisi revered as one of the most-loved saints in all of Catholicism and known in his time as the "Hammer of the Heretics." Admired for his piety, his miracles and his loving treatment of the less fortunate, the gentle St. Anthony also served as the namesake for the Texan city of San Antonio.

Anthony: Warrior of God 2006
Jordi MollĂ  masterfully portrays St. Anthony of Padua, the beloved 12-century saint who traded in a life of privilege for a life of service to God, in Antonello Belluco's biography. Having lived off the fat of the land in medieval Lisbon, Anthony was overcome by the troubled world around him and joined a monastery. Although physically weak, he took on the government and the Church on behalf of the downtrodden, a stand that led to his canonization.




St. Damien

Terence Knapp stars in this award-winning drama as Roman Catholic missionary Father Damien, the real-life Belgian priest who dedicated his life to working with lepers on the Hawaiian island of Molokai and ultimately sacrificed much of himself. Originally produced for television, the film documents Damien's service as both a spiritual guide and medical caregiver in his mission to tend to those whom others had forsaken.

 Narrated by Robin Williams, this compelling biography chronicles the life of renowned humanitarian Father Damien De Veuster. Accompanied by the music of Keola Beamer, the film examines the journey from his childhood in Belgium to his legendary missionary work. Transported to the quarantined islands of Hawaii in 1883, Father Damien dedicated the rest of his life to the sufferers of Hansen's disease (leprosy), the most feared malady of the time. St. Patrick: The Irish Legend (2000) 
 Filmed in Ireland, this made-for-cable biopic profiles the Emerald Isle's patron saint. While suffering as the slave of pagan barbarians, young Patrick (Luke Griffin) has a divine encounter that rekindles his religious fervor. He grows up to become a missionary (played by Patrick Bergin) determined to convert his native land to Christianity. St. Padre Pio

Padre Pio: Miracle Man(2000)
From the holy visions of his childhood through his powerful prophecy and adult ministry, the man who would come to be known as Padre Pio (portrayed by Sergio Castellitto) is the focus of Carlo Carlei's film. Enduring hardship and persecution from the Church during his lifetime, the pious Francisco Forgione blessed the lives of many with his miraculous healing. Padre Pio: The Priest Who Bore the Wounds of Christ 2007 NR
Hosted by Father Andrew Apostoli, this fascinating 13-part series examines the remarkable life of Francesco Forgione, an Italian priest who was canonized St. Pio of Pietrelcina and came to be known as Padre Pio. He is famous not only for his piety but also for his documentation of visible stigmata marks on his hands and feet that he claimed allowed him to feel the pain of Jesus Christ as he was being crucified.

Solanus Casey

Solanus Casey: Priest, Porter, Prophet
Born in a log cabin along the banks of the Mississippi River, he was the sixth child in a family of ten boys and six girls. He spent his 53 years as a priest in menial service as a sacristan and porter; yet by the time he was declared "Venerable" by Pope John Paul II in 1995, thousands of people had offered testimony that Fr. THE HEALING PROPHET... SOLANUS CASEY
This fascinating film tells the story of Venerable Solanus Casey. Because he had academic difficulties, the Capuchin friar was ordained a simplex priest. He was not permitted to hear confessions or preach formally, but as his community's porter, he came in contact, counseled, and prayed with many people, especially the poor. Throughout his life, he was a model of humility and service. Fr. Casey died at the age of 86 on July 31, 1957, the anniversary of the same hour and day of his First Holy Mass.
